How unusual – a Nigerian advance fee fraud. Nigerian? It says the receiver is in Nigeria. Advance fee? It asks you to send $160. If you send the money, you will lose it. You aren’t expecting a trunk stuffed full of money are you? It’s all a scam. Just delete the email.

This was sent to me by a reader. It was received by a friend of hers AFTER the friend applied for a job that was advertised on care.com. Her friend spotted the obvious signs that the job was a scam and didn’t reply.

Who cares. He’s a scammer. The only thing “deadly” about this email is the effect it will have on your bank balance if you fall for his scam. He will start asking you for money.

This was sent to me by a reader – who tells me it comes with an attachment that her malware filter will not let her open.
I hope you can see that this is not a genuine “mystery shopping” job. For a start, the email address that this was sent from is apparently unrelated to the email address you are told to reply to.

Find a Scammer’s Location From the Email’s Original IP Address If your email client will allow you to see the message path you might be able to find out where the email was sent from. I don't know how reliable this is, but it's fun!
