Dear Friend writes from Lady Sandra Anderson

“Sandra Anderson” might be female, but she aint no lady.  She’s a scammer.  One who tells me the old, old story about being a widow, dying and being rich.  Oh, and for some reason she seems to think she lives on a market stall in Manchester.  Most strange.

She’s a scammer.  She isn’t any of the things she claims, and she certainly doesn’t live in the UK.  She wants to take your money by charging you [Continue reading Dear Friend writes from Lady Sandra Anderson]

Yeah – right – pull the other leg, it’s got bells on it.  ”Mr Bent” (good name for a scammer, don’t you think) doesn’t seem to be able to decide if he’s called Harry Bent, or maybe Stev Newton.  Who knows.  Who cares.  He’s a scammer – there was no draw and you haven’t won anything.  Just delete the email and don’t reply.

URGENT ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED PLEASE

Nothing new in this scam – “Mr Khumlo” inherited millions of dollars, is a refugee and just needs your help to get his money.  Or not.  Mr Khumalo isn’t rich and he isn’t a refugee – he’s a scammer who wants to get his hands on your money by charging you fees. Delete the email and don’t reply.

Goodness me, there’s been an outbreak of members of “the Helicopter Society” dying in awful circumstances and leaving me millions of dollars – oh yes, and they were all “Engr”.   Do you find that just a bit unbelievable?  I hope so – because non of them are real – just a collection of scammers who are rehashing the same old scam and using a different name each time.  Just ignore them all.  The scammers [Continue reading No Subject]

Understanding and promoting tax refunds : Changes within 12 months

A sneaky scam Inland Revenue email.  Take a look at the link you are taken to if you click on the body of the email: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk.formsrefunds.com/tfn/r

At first glance it looks as if it could be the real hmrc.gov.uk site – but look more closely and you will see the site is actually “formrefunds.com” with the hmrc.gov.uk bit added onto the beginning.

Now look at the info you are asked to provide to this scammer.  The first [Continue reading Understanding and promoting tax refunds : Changes within 12 months]

Confirmatory Letter From The Lottery Board

A reader forwarded this daft scam to me.  It came from this email address: TBarden@UTNet.UToledo.Edu

My reader commented “I hope this college kid figures out another way to get his tuition money!”  So do I – he won’t be a student for much longer if the University of Toledo catch him.

Don’t encourage him (or her) just ignore this scam – if you reply, you will find yourself being asked to send money.

Would you trust a scammer who can’t decide how to spell his name?  Is he “Mr Blaise” or he is “Blase Hagar”.  Who knows.  Come to that, who cares.  I’m about to do exactly what he asks me not to “expose or betray this trust”.  Yes – here’s the scam in it’s entirety – Sorry Mr Blaise, or Mr Hagar – or whoever you are.

I hope by now you’ve realised this is a scam.  There [Continue reading Urgent reply needed]

CHRISMAX GRANT DONATION

If the “Help 4 the helpless foundation” existed (which it doesn’t) it would be in serious breach of its charitable remit.  By my calculations 40 x £0.5m = £20m.  Apparently this charity has so much spare cash that it has helped all of the “helpless” and is able to give away £20m.  If I was one of its donors, I would want my money back.

This is a scammer, who wants to get his/her hands on [Continue reading CHRISMAX GRANT DONATION]
